  • Ministry of Labour and Home Affairs will be hosting its 11th National Women Exposition in Gaborone next week.

The annual exhibition which runs for a week is to be officially opened on Wednesday under the theme ‘Women Entrepreneurs in the Informal Sector: Pillars in Economics Diversification’.

“We decided to keep the theme and its structure the same because our intention is to see what can be improved before we can abandon it,” said Rantshabeng the acting permanent secretary for Ministry of Labour and Home Affairs.

He said the subject of the exhibition help them to get better as organizers, since exhibitors participating in the show at all times make them aware whenever they fail to discern the needs for  women.

Rantshabeng cited that the exhibition will facilitate to expose women and make them gain boldness; give them an opportunity to explore, to identify the potential market and network with various organizations.

“It is good to have these exhibitions for women to be empowered because to empower a woman is to empower the nation,” stated Dennis Maswabi from the Enterprise Botswana.

In an effort to make this a success, various organizations like Enterprise Botswana, The Business Place will network with exhibitors and entrepreneurs to give their testimony on how the National Women Exposition has exposed them.

Through the National Women Exposition conference women will be given power to market and produce for international trade.

Maureen Mogojwa from the Business Place in her remarks said they always struggle for women because when women are supported the whole nation benefit from that.
