  • From just 10km of tarmac to over 7000km, Botswana’s paved road network development is quite a laudable success story. This has translated into further development in other critical sectors of society, specifically, health delivery, education and communications, trade and commerce in the forty four years that followed the country’s independence.

While it is inevitable requirement for sophisticated plants and equipment in road construction, most if not all of it, has had to be imported into the country, a feat demanding particular expertise and appreciation of the equally complicated transportation logistics.

Suppliers and hiring companies of these and related capital resources have, therefore, played a critical role in ensuring that these basic tools for facilitating projects execution are readily available.

Rola Botswana is one such supplier dealing in construction equipment supply and heavy trucks for over twelve years during which they have and continue to offer world brands in the construction sector of Botswana to fulfil market demand.

“The company staff and directors support customers in their decision to purchase the ideal plant and equipment combination to suit their specific and general requirements,” said Markos Markides.

The company offers back up, rooted in the world-wide and extended Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) network of factories, storage and logistic entities. The company has total support from the OEM which has enabled the transfer of expertise to locals through continuous training and product knowledge upgrade from time to time.

“We have frequent hands on visits from our OEMs based overseas and from South Africa headquarters The OEMs also expect our personnel to attend technical, managerial and sales courses mounted by them at their Southern African and worldwide venues.”

Markides, further, said that their service delivery is according to the dictates of their OEM principals in which parts and field service is core to the company’s customer service strategy.

“The response of our parts and fields service personnel is critically important and is the objective of senior management within our company to optimize their effectiveness and reliability for the customers benefit,” he added.

The company’s flagship dealership includes Volvo Construction Equipment and Faw trucks.

“With Volvo we have been co-dealers with Babcock Equipment who are known to have large representation in all major centres of Southern Africa since 2001 and have been dealers for FAW since 2006.”

Headquartered in Gaborone with workshops and offices in Francistown also, the company boasts of qualified and trained employees serving the construction and mining industries. Rola Botswana employs over 40 people.
