The World Bank in conjunction with the Botswana Institute for Development Policy Analysis (BIDPA) will on Tuesday host a seminar under the banner ‘Global Economic Prospects 2010: Crisis, Finance and Growth Overview and Findings.’
According to a joint communiqué released by both institutions, this year’s report examines the consequences of the crisis for both short and medium term growth prospects of developing countries.
In addition, the report presents evidence that the financial boom played a critical role in the growth experienced by developing countries between 2003 and 2007, but that tighter conditions in the future are expected to result in weaker growth over the next five to 15 years.
Andrew Burns, lead author of the Global Economic Prospects, Development Prospects Group, World Bank and Cristina Savescu, Economist, Development Prospects Group at the World Bank will grace the event.
